GROCERY MADNESS!

So, I went really crazy today with the groceries (but that's just par for the course in November with all those Thanksgiving sales...)  I decided to give Walmart another go with the price matching, and things went much better this time.  Unfortunately, that didn't stop me from traveling to three other stores afterwards to get the stuff I couldn't get at Walmart.  All stores combined, I spent $141.45, and I'm not even sure how to calculate how much I saved, but it was a LOT.  In addition to the savings, I fulfilled several rebates--$51 worth, to be exact...so when I subtract that I am still under my $100 limit for the week!

Here's what I got (and what I paid):
  • 6 2-Liter Sunkist (.38)
  • 5 12-packs Pepsi products (2.60)
  • 3 Capri Suns (1.67)
  • 48 cans Cream of Chicken Soup (.33--killer deal!)
  • 2 bags Lays chips (1.79)
  • 5 bags Doritos (1.99)
  • 3 Mini Wheats Little Bites (1.50 plus free milk)
  • 2 cans Dole Pineapple (.25)
  • 2 cans Sweetened Condensed milk (.98)
  • 6 McCormick gravy packets (.14)
  • 2 Western Family pumpkin 29 oz. (1.08)
  • 3 24-oz. Daisy sour cream (.75)
  • 6 packs of hot dogs (.38)
  • 6 Philadelphia cream cheese (.38)
  • 4 cans Libby's vegetables (.39)
  • 4 Stove Tops (.75)
  • 2 Miracle Whip 32 oz. (.99)
  • 2 Kraft Mayo 32 oz. (.99)
  • 2 Best Food Mayo 32 oz. (1.69)
  • 8 Nestle chocolate chips (1.28)
  • 14 bags Western Family veggies (.58)
  • 4 whipping creams (.48)
  • 5 boxes Chicken in a Biscuit (FREE)
  • 3 boxes Wheat Thins (.25)
  • 1 box Ritz crackers (1.00)
  • 1 box Ritz crackerfuls (FREE)
  • 4 lbs. Farmland sausage (.88)(not pictured)
  • 4 Cool Whip 8 oz. (.55)(not pictured)
  • 2 24-oz. SunMaid raisins (2.98)
  • 2 1-lb. SAF yeast (2.98)
  • 2 Kernels popcorn seasoning (1.87)
  • 3 gallons of milk
  • one stray bottle of Soft Scrub (not a good deal, but necessary)

It was a successful trip!  My freezer is packed and food storage is getting really crowded but if I were shopping the "old" way I would have spent $200 or more just at Walmart...

Here is what I splurged on at Harmon's... Boar's Head deli meat and a cheese ball (what else was I going to do with 10 boxes of crackers?)  Luckily, I had a rebate for this too, making it a better deal!

  2. Smith's has them for 1.67, Macey's has them for 1.48(with a coupon they have in the store) and Harmon's has them 4/$4 with an in store coupon (I price matched the Harmon's price and used coupons from the newspaper and a tear pad to get them so cheap)
